SCCA UPDATE SCCA SUPPORTS CLOSED FIELD POLICY SCCA will support the Palo Alto Concours policy of cars remaining in place until after the Best in Show trophy has been presented. Steve Miller, Chief of Concours, stated, "It is in the best interest of all parties to present a complete show. The audience expects to see all of the cars and SCCA will work with the Concours to meet that expectation." PREVIOUS WINNERS NOT ELIGIBLE Once again, SCCA determined that entrants who won first place in their class in 1998 will not be eligible for class judging this year, but will be eligible for any of the special awards that will be presented. The Palo Alto Concours wishes to honor last year's winners because they contributed so much to the success of the event and the charities the Concours supports. To do so, the Concours has established a special exhibit, prominently placed on the field, to feature the First in Class winners. SCCA PRESENTS TROPHIES Each year SCCA presents a special trophy to the car that has won the most First in Class and special trophies in the previous year. This year, Steve Miller, Chief of Concours, determined that two trophies would be presented - one for foreign, one for US manufacture - and that both would be presented at Palo Alto. These SCCA trophies are added to the group of five new trophies that will be presented this year. |
