IT'S PARTY TIME This was the second year for our Patrons Pavilion and, by all accounts, a huge success. The Sheraton Palo Alto Hotel did a |

wonderful job of preparing the Pavilion for our guests, the mimosas hit the spot, and the buffet featuring italian specialties drew rave reviews.
The Pavilion was scheduled to open at 9:00 but many chose to come earlier so, with a bit of scrambling, we made it happen. Coffee and coffeecake, complements of Hobies Restaurant, saved the day and got our guests into the right frame of mind (make that awake). We now realize the need for the Pavilion to open earlier and will plan accordingly. There won't be the problem of lost souls looking for coffee!
The Pavilion - as advertised - is proving to be the perfect place to watch the events of the day. About mid-morning, we saw the "Rolling Concours" featuring some of the beautiful automobiles on our field. Later in the afternoon, the awards were presented to the many winners. Many first-time attendees to the Concours commented to our staff that they had no idea the Palo Alto Concours had grown so and were amazed at the quality, style and presentation of our event. One honorary judge was heard to say, "How do I get an invitation for next year!". A long-time attendee, judge and patron of the Concours stated, "If we can hold this level of success in the future, we will attract winners from other major concours to Palo Alto". Thanks to our staff and volunteers making the Patrons Pavilion a great place to enjoy the day. |
