This is the 1931 Packard Magic Carpet prototype, the MC-001 as pictured in an advertising booklet by Packard, but with our Concours Logo superimposed. Due to the revolutionary nature of its extraordinary technology, only one prototype was assembled and tested at a time. In 1938, it is believed that the MC-008, together with the plans and lead engineer, was impounded by the government for reasons of national security. Rumors of its fate are numerous. Some believe that it has become the basis for UFO technology and others that the prototype was destroyed on the eve of WWII when NAZI spies attempted to steal both the prototype and its plans.
